Choquequirao to Machu Picchu, an adventure of a lifetime! In the third episode, we start day four at 5 am in the ruins of Pinchaunuyoc. From there we had a 1709 foot descent to the Rio Blanco. After filling up on water, we began the most challenging climb of the entire journey. We climbed 3753 feet and walked 2.4 miles. This is not the highest climb, nor the longest, but it is the steepest of the entire route to Machu Picchu. The slope is steep and requires a lot of physical effort. When you arrive in Maizal, you will be in the most isolated point between Marampata and Machu Picchu. There, we stayed at the Perez family campsite. There are no accommodation options there, but you can get good food for just 15 soles. On day 5, we left Maizal towards the village of Yanama. The path is an original Inca trail, and in some points, it is still possible to see the original pavement, which is approximately 500 years old. Between Maizal and the village of Yanama, we passed the San Juan pass and also Minas Victória. A place with many mysteries, full of caves, which leave many doubts about how old the place is, and how many thousands of people lived and worked there at the time of the great Inca Empire. At the end of day five, we arrived in the village of Yanama. There, you can find accommodation, showers and meals, there is more than one accommodation option. ____________________________________________________________________________ If you liked this video, leave a like and subscribe to the channel and turn on notifications, so you can follow all the videos in this series.
