I paint strong women from all around the world but I never painted one from my hometown. Until now: This is my portrait of Catharina Cramer, the head of the Warsteiner Brewery and a strong woman from my hometown in Germany. She represents the ninth generation of the family firm and German beer icon: Warsteiner. As the family’s youngest daughter, and as the first woman in the history of the company, she was presented as Warsteiner’s future boss at the tender age of 26. At that time, she had just finished her studies at London’s European Business school. After her father's death in 2012, she became CEO of the company that was founded in 1753. Now she leads her company, which exports beer internationally into more than 60 countries, into the future and implements her ideas in a male domain, which is the beer industry. She represents women in leading positions and as a mother of two children she shows that it is possible for women to have both - a family and a career. I am sure there are many strong and inspiring women in your local area as well. Appreciate them, because strong women make strong communities.
