She outlines her path from intensive care unit nursing to pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, which led her to seek comprehensive training in urology through an APP fellowship. Dr. Hughes describes the fellowship’s intensive rotation schedule, where participants rotate every 2–3 months across subspecialties such as general urology, urogyn, reconstructive, and pediatric urology, while also gaining hands-on training in procedures like cystoscopy, urodynamics, and prostate biopsies.
