Starting from the Ferny Grove station on the Samford Rd side, just a heads-up, there’s some construction going on, but parking and access are still available. We’ll ride along Samford Rd for about 5 minutes. There’s another route around the back via Lanita Road that’s a bit quicker and just as safe, but I prefer this way because of the dedicated bike lane. This path eventually merges with Lanita Rd anyway. You’ll pass by a few parks, including Ironbark Gully, which is a great spot if you're into mountain biking – it’s like a big playground! In less than 10 minutes from the station and the end of Lanita Rd, you’ll hit the entrance to the Samford Cycle Link. This is the highlight of the ride – a beautiful 1.4 km track that I reckon used to be an old train line. After that, we’ll cruise through some lovely neighbourhoods, farms, and creeks... it’s all about the slow life out here. There’s a road with a bit of traffic, but nothing hectic. The ride wraps up at the roundabout in Samford Village, where you’ll find some shops and cafes. Definitely a track worth giving a go!
