Recycled Robot Art Tutorial - Grades K-2

In this tutorial, you will make a robot or character out of printed cardboard and recycled objects found around your home. We used printed cardboard that we created in another tutorial, but you can use any type of cardboard as a background. Grab a basket or box and go around your house and find things and objects that can be used to decorate your robot. Here is what I gathered: TP rolls, egg cartons, tape, lids, paper plates, cupcake liners, paper doilies, straws, buttons, beads, yarn, produce mesh bags, fabric scraps, tape, legos, washers or bolts. The tutorial will show you steps for gluing and assembling as well as ideas that could inspire you to decorate your own robot. Don’t forget to share your creation! Materials used: Cardboard background, white glue or glue gun (with adult help), scissors, pencil, crayons or oil pastels if decorating, recycled materials and objects from home (see above suggestions).
