Sailing in Maine, holy lobster pots!!! (Calico Skies Sailing, Ep 72)

In this episode we explore the Isle of Shoals, a beautiful island located right on the border of New Hampshire and Maine. The next day we continue our journey further North, rising at 4:30 am in anticipation of a long passage. The early beginnings of our little Maine adventure shows promise with one of the most gorgeous sunrises we've ever seen. Our passage continues relatively uneventfully although Grace spots a whale and is just a little bit excited about it. Light and fickle winds mean we start out with our code zero sail and later switch to the spinnaker, playing with our newly installed tweakers. It's a long day on the water covering 85 miles and when we get close to our destination there is no rest for the weary when we are greeted by an incredibly dense minefield of lobster pots. It takes a team to navigate them successfully with Grace at the helm and Bill on the bow with his eye on upcoming pots.
