Before my trip to Japan, I wanted to make one last summer piece — something playful, a little chaotic, and completely me. So I made the most checkered dress ever. It’s my first time sewing a bias-cut dress, and also my second patchwork project, so this one was definitely a challenge. But very happy with how it turned out. I didn’t get to explain every sewing step (I was on a serious time crunch!), but hopefully this video still gives you some inspiration for your own patchwork or upcycling projects. There’s something special about making fabric from fabric, seeing it transform as you go — imperfect but full of life.
