This week I rode out of Namibia and crossed into Botswana, though my last moments before this were being greeted by wild elephants in the Bwabwata National Park – a reminder that this country is full of surprises. 🐘 From there I head into Maun, where the first Burning Maun festival takes over the Okavango Delta. It’s a celebration of art, fire, music, and community, and being part of it felt like stepping into a desert dream. To top it off, I visit Elephant Haven, a sanctuary dedicated to protecting and raising orphaned baby elephants. Spending time with these gentle giants and seeing the care they receive was deeply moving – one of the highlights of the journey so far. This episode is a mix of border crossings, wildlife encounters, cultural festivals, and meaningful conservation work – everything that makes traveling through Africa so raw and unforgettable.
