Pop Culture 101 Throughout history, humans have shaped society with its perceptions and culture. The concept of ‘being mainstream has existed from time immemorial (#YOLO has been around from the times of Ramayana when Sita crossed the Lakshman-rekha despite being asked not to) We have always discovered new ideas and seamlessly integrated them into our lives. We create an identity based on what a majority of us perceive to be informative and entertaining, and thus germinated the idea of pop culture; an eclectic collection of ideas, perspectives and attitudes that define us and the notion of a mainstream culture. This 25th edition of NITTfest we seek to discover exactly that; we seek to celebrate the idea of being mainstream and to revel in our own perspectives. We celebrate our silver jubilee with a high octane, emotional filled, glory seeking attempt to create our own culture. Presenting to you, fellow NITTians, a renewed celebration of pop culture, bigger and better than ever- NITTFEST’16
