We have always got to be aware that things can go wrong. In the early post-operative period we will explain the nose will be quite swollen. There isn't a lot you can do about that other than use the cold packs, and wait for the swelling to go down. You'll also feel quite stuffy and blocked up which can be quite debilitating, especially if you weren't expecting it. But again, that usually settles down by itself.
