This video explores what I call the axioms of mental processes. In mathematics, axioms are statements that do not require proof. They are the foundations on which entire systems are built. But what happens if we try to apply this idea to the human mind? We often assume that certain psychological reactions are obvious: fear in the face of danger, gratitude after kindness, anger after injustice. Yet when we examine these assumptions carefully, we begin to notice something strange — they are full of exceptions. Why do some people respond to suffering with compassion, while others respond with cruelty? Why do we believe psychological explanations so easily? And how much of what we think about the human psyche actually comes from culture, stories, and media rather than observation? In this video we explore: • the idea of psychological axioms • the fluid boundary between conscious and unconscious processes • why many psychological explanations feel convincing even when they are vague • how expectations about human behavior are formed • and why questioning our “obvious truths” may be the first step toward understanding the mind The goal of this channel is not only to answer questions, but to ask deeper ones.
