Analgesic medications are medications which are used for the treatment of pain. Classes of analgesic medication include the following: • Non opioid • Non anti-inflammatory for example Paracetamol • Anti-inflammatory medications e.g. Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Celecoxib • Weak opioid analgesic medications e.g. Tramadol, Tapentadol, Codeine, Dihydrocodeine • Strong opioid analgesic medications e.g. Oxycodone, Morphine, Fentanyl, Buprenorphine • Anti-neuropathic medications e.g. Pregabalin, Gabapentin, Nortriptyline, Amitriptyline, Duloxetine etc. Other medications may also be uses as adjuncts to the above analgesic medications including the following: • Muscle relaxants e.g. Baclofen, Tizanidine, Methocarbamol
