Kamishichiken District https://maps.app.goo.gl/4h1jt4aXpaDJr... *Kyoto's oldest Geisha district with traditional wooden architecture. Highlights of this walk: ・Kitano Tenmangu Shrine: Famous for its 1,500 plum trees. We found some early blossoms even in January! ・Kamishichiken: A peaceful Geisha district with beautiful wooden architecture and narrow back alleys. ・The "Nade-ushi": Rubbing the bronze bull statues for wisdom and health. Best Time to Visit: The plum blossoms at Kitano Tenmangu are at their peak from mid-February to early March. Every February 25th, the "Baika-sai" (Plum Blossom Festival) is held, where you can see Geiko and Maiko from Kamishichiken performing a tea ceremony.
