www.szaluckapiano.com The 10 Etudes for piano were written in 1956 and shortly after its first performance (given by Regina Smendzianka) were regarded as a natural continuation of the traditions of Chopin and Szymanowski, but also of Liszt, Debussy, Bartók and Prokofiev. The set of etudes for piano by Grażyna Bacewicz is characterized by typical motor skills. A homogeneous rhythmic flow results in the superiority of the rhythmic value chosen in a given study, as well as the repetition of the constant movement formula. In each of the etudes one can distinguish a number of structured fragments. Their isolation is determined by differences in the internal organization of the material. Etude no.4, based on hexadecimal figuration with continuous changes of register is also a monorhythmic work with basic groups of six semiquavers.
