Gear Talk Episode 7 Video on sensor size impact on bokeh and depth of field. I shot the same subject with fairy lights in the background and tried to use a 35mm focal length equivalence on each camera body. Both rx100 mkiii and lx100 have roughly a 24-70 equivalence and I used the canon 24-70 f2.8L ii USM on the Canon rebel t1i and canon 5d mk iv. This video provides a side by side, visual comparison of the bokeh coming from the different sensor size. I kept the camera settings as close to each other on each camera. There is a clear difference of the bokeh that can be seen in the fairy lights in the pictures. As the sensor gets bigger, the bigger the blur and the bokeh on the lights. Camera sensor size and the direct relationship to the bokeh. F2.8 is not equivalent on different sensor size!
