This lens is designed for when you’re running metal halide bulbs, which are very white, very bright, and they do have a broad spectrum of UV that you have to be careful about. This lens is very dark because the metal halide lens light are so bright that this balances the color and gives you perfect daylight. Now with the metal halide bulb, because it is so white, the color is not so shifted for your experience in the grow room, but there is a lot of UV you have to be careful about. Don’t believe that regular sunglasses are going to protect you in the grow room. Regular sunglasses do not necessarily cover the full spectrum of UV, and Method Seven makes sure that way down in the UVC range, you’re protected. If you’re wearing cheap sunglasses that are dark in the grow room, your pupils and lens open up a little wider to let the light in. You’re actually letting in more damaging rays.
