In this pottery vlog, I visit Bracker’s Good Earth Clays in Lawrence, Kansas to buy clay and glazes for my studio. I tour the store, learn about Kansas Clay Company and Kentucky Mudworks clay bodies, explore aisle after aisle of glazes, including Amaco, Mayco, Opulence, Coyote, Laguna and Spectrum glazes, and I also interview the co-owner about the production and distribution of Kansas Clays which are manufactured on the premises. I also speak with Ryan, the shop manager, about which clay bodies would work best for my process and learn about his handmade product, ZigSig – a premixed, colored terra sigillata that's ready to use straight from the jar and comes in 14 colors. Learn more at @zigsigcolor on social media and https://zigsigcolor.com on the web. I purchased four new to me clays from Kansas Clay: Kansas Wheat, Coffee Grind, Smoky Hills and Pyrate Freckle and two new to me clays from Kentucky Mudworks: Roo Stoneware and Big Turtle. I also bought a huge assortment of underglaze transfers. Of course, I couldn't resist buying glaze - wait for a separate video about my glaze haul! If you’re a potter looking for: • New clay bodies • Complete lines of major glaze brands • Midwest pottery suppliers • Kansas Clay Company information This store tour gives you a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most established ceramic supply shops in the region. Thanks for watching and supporting handmade pottery.
