My power carving turntable is one of one such thing that must be made. It is a fairly simple task, but is one that must be carried out. Materials Needed: This turntable is quite simple to make. It uses three-quarter inch material, MDF or other sturdy material, for the base and turning top. It also uses a 12 inch Lazy Susan bearing hardware set. To top it off I use shelf liner to create a non-slip surface for the top of the turntable so that I can set it at an angle. To make an angle just use some 2" x 4" 's that you have laying around. Screw them together and drill some holes in the arms to create an angle. Use dowels to set the height. Make sure they slide in and out of the holes easily. This ensures that you will be able to make adjustments quickly. That is really all there is to it. You can make one using MDF, plywood, or other materials that are sturdy. Attaching the Lazy Susan hardware might be a challenge at first but once you get a hang of it it will go quickly.
