Iranian BEAST | Morteza Sharifi | 139 km/h World Record Volleyball Spike !!! When you talk about the new generation of Iranian volleyball stars, one name stands out — Morteza Sharifi. Born on May 27, 1999, in Urmia, Iran — a city famous for producing volleyball talent — Sharifi grew into one of the most explosive outside hitters of his generation. Standing around 193 cm tall, he combines athleticism, power, and fearless attacking to dominate from the left side of the court. Sharifi’s journey began in Iran’s domestic league, where he played for clubs such as Moghavemat Urmia, Matin Varamin, Shahrdari Bojnord, and Shams Tehran. His performances quickly drew attention beyond Iran’s borders, and he made the move to Turkey — one of Europe’s most competitive leagues. In Turkey, Sharifi represented Bursa Büyükşehir Belediyespor, Haliliye Belediye Spor, and Spor Toto before joining the historic club Galatasaray HDI Sigorta, where he competed at the highest level of Turkish volleyball. He later continued his career with İstanbul Gençlik Spor Kulübü, further establishing himself as a reliable and dynamic outside spiker in European competition. But his impact goes far beyond club volleyball. Sharifi rose to prominence with Iran’s youth national teams, winning major titles including the Asian U19 Championship, Asian U20 Championship, and the FIVB U21 World Championship. Not only did he win — he was repeatedly recognized as one of the Best Outside Spikers of those tournaments, proving his elite potential early in his career. He made his senior national team debut in 2018 at the FIVB Volleyball Nations League, stepping onto the court against France under coach Igor Kolaković. From that moment on, he became a consistent part of Iran’s international roster, competing in major events like the World Championship and the Volleyball Nations League. One of the most shocking moments of his career came during the 2025 VNL, when Sharifi unleashed a spike measured at 139 km/h — a thunderous hit that was reported as one of the fastest spikes ever recorded in professional volleyball. Pure power. Pure adrenaline. As an outside hitter, Sharifi brings more than just offense. He contributes in serve-receive, defense, and clutch moments under pressure. His emotional intensity and leadership qualities have also made him a key presence for both club and country. From youth champion to international star, Morteza Sharifi represents the strength, passion, and future of Iranian volleyball. If you love powerful spikes, fearless attacking, and next-generation stars — this is a player you need to watch.
