The GM/Toyota collaboration started in 1985 with the Chevrolet Nova that was a rebadged Toyota Corolla, built in Fremont, California, in a former GM plant that had shut down in 1982. The Vibe and Matrix lasted for two generations, but the Vibe's second gen only lasted 2 years before the Pontiac brand was shut down, leaving the Matrix to continue until 2014.
