What we have here is a simple 12 to 1 musical interval - the fraction represents a frequency ratio, in other words the higher note is twelve times faster or "higher" than the lower note. After a bit of introductory business, we divide the frequencies arithmetically, which is incidentally the same thing as dividing the ratios, producing the following progression: 1:12 2:13:24 3:14:25:36 4:15:26:37:48 5:16:27:38:49:60 6:17:28:39:50:61:72 7:18:29:40:51:62:73:84 8:19:30:41:52:63:74:85:96 9:20:31:42:53:64:75:86:97:108 10:21:32:43:54:65:76:87:98:109:120 1:2:3:4:5:6:7:8:9:10:11:12 You math types might be able to notice a few patterns in those numbers!! About the software: If you're interested in software, I would say it's much better to use something you're already familiar with that might already have microtonal support - seriously check your vsts against this list, you might be surprised, a lot of stuff has it these days: https://en.xen.wiki/w/Software This is a better approach than like, doing what I do because what I do is convoluted and I can't really recommend it as a process or set of tools for anyone else in good conscience, seriously my workflow is terrible.
