It was actually bilateral Trigeminal Neuralgia where you have an artery, blood vessel or vein sitting on and compressing your 5th cranial nerve. My symptoms were not typical. I only found out bilateral TN when ruling out as my family member had been diagnosed with TN with typical symptoms. My MRI was actually read wrong originally. They are usually used to rule out tumors, MS, white matter or aneurysms. I had two successful MVD surgeries with Dr. Lim now Head Chair of Neurosurgery at Stanford. I also have been diagnosed with bilateral Occipital and Glossopharyngeal Neuralgia.
