Along the Treeline is a 1/35 scale WWII infantry diorama built to capture a quiet moment before contact. In this video, I walk through the full process—from painting the figures to building the base—focusing on brush control, precision, and subtle color variation to keep the scene grounded and believable. The goal wasn’t a big action moment, but restraint: three soldiers moving cautiously along a narrow forest path, using what cover they can. 🎨 Paints used (Vallejo): Olive Drab Flat Earth Khaki Buff Burnt Umber Burnt Red Brown Sand Gunmetal Gray Rifle stocks were painted using a mix of Burnt Red + Flat Earth, with metal parts lightly dry-brushed in Gunmetal Gray. 🌿 Base materials: Pink insulation foam AK Interactive Muddy Ground Woodland Scenics Turf (Earth, Earth Blend, Green Blend) Light Green Lichen Natural branches and rocks This build is part of my ongoing focus on storytelling through scale modeling, keeping scenes simple and letting paint, pose, and composition do the work. If you enjoy scale modeling, miniature painting, and dioramas that tell a story, consider subscribing and let me know in the comments what moment you think these three are about to step into. Thanks for watching. — RameyWorks360
