Advocate Danstan Omari has expressed gratitude to the Court following the acquittal of a Moi University student who had been charged with publishing an image depicting President William Ruto in a coffin. Speaking after the ruling, Omari stated that his law firm provides pro bono legal services to young people who are maliciously charged and unable to afford representation. He noted that many youths facing similar charges often lack the financial means to secure legal assistance. The advocate further revealed that they will be consulting with the student on the possibility of instituting a suit against the State for the alleged violation of his fundamental rights and freedoms, and to seek appropriate compensation.
