Had an old pair of safety-glasses. Testing to see if they would stop a Pellet fired from a Co2 air-gun at 400 FPS. I am using a Beretta Px4 Storm Co2 pistol for this test. Also, just for kicks, I shot them with a .22 (.22LR). Summary of what I am saying in the video: Hi I wanted to do a little segment about safety glasses. If you are out working with power tools or airguns or firearms or even when I am flying R/C Helicopters you should always wear safety glasses. These are Z87 certified to be safety glasses. These are scratched and I am going to retire them but first will do some tests. I have an airgun here it tested on the Chronograph at 360-400 feet per second. I have a firearm here a Ruger 22/45 also. I believe that the Safety glasses should protect against a direct BB-gun hit, but the .22 firearm I'm sure will just blow-through them. I am shooting Raptor PBA pellets. I brought the target back and you can see a divot where it was hit by the PBA pellet. I could not see an impact from the Steel BB's but this hit is from the Pellet. I can feel a slight bump on the back but it did not penetrate, it would have protected you against this direct Pellet strike. But look around the cardboard other hits outside the glasses on the cardboard, you could still get hurt. So always treat airguns with respect, treat them just as you would an actual firearm. Okay now I am going to fire the 22 firearm. I'm firing Federal bulk-pack 22 ammo. I think that was a good hit. Here's what we got from the 22 you can see it knocked a big chunk out of the side. I know some glasses claim to protect against a .22, these never claimed that I am just shooting to see what would happen, and they went right through. The cardboard was clean before I started shooting and you can see the holes it (the .22 firearm) made. But, the glasses definitely protected against the BB gun.
