Lets dive into the limitations of a factory Toyota block and where we found a failure in this instance. Pedro, Baltic Supra, stopped by with his near 2000hp 2JZ engine for a tear down and diagnosis after his recent engine troubles. In this case, it seems to have been a cylinder sleeve failure that simply wasn't able to keep up with the engine at this power level. While this isn't a common problem we see on 2JZ engines, it is one of the issues someone at this power level begin to encounter. To combat a failure like this, Pedro plans to take a step in the right direction with a billet block. While a stock Toyota cast block could be put back in, at this level it remains a gamble of not if, but when the block will let loose. Thank you for watching!
