I think this is my favourite Go West original, (they do a great cover of Bobby Caldwell's 'What You Won't Do for Love' with great soulful vocals from Peter Cox), and has all the trademarks of their sound. Always thought they do keyboards and chord changes in their own way but another massive part of these tracks is the guitar work and tone of the late Alan Murphy. He had a great spanky clean tone which I believe was mostly down to his Aria guitar. (Here's a great video demo imitating his tone and the uploader has a lot of great info in the comments • Alan Murphy style solo (@2'05") - Chasing ... ). His playing style and use of the whammy bar is really fun and challenging also. So although I usually add my own parts to the Leppardized covers, I didn't have to here, I just tried to bring out his playing more and also mimic some of the cool keyboard chords and arpeggios. 'Leppardized' is my way of adding interesting guitar parts to a song that has little to no guitar in it, in an attempt to make it more like the Hysteria era of Def Leppard. Although really it is just an excuse for me to play over pop. :) You can find more here - • Leppardized Covers I use a Jackson Dk2 into a Boss Me50 into a Palmer Pdi-09 into a Scarlet interface into Logic Pro X. I have a Patreon where I upload my notation notes for all my new covers and I am going through my old ones too. But I also provide custom notation and video lessons content there or at my bwmguitarlessons@gmail.com address. Please get in touch if you want help playing the music you love. / bwm5150
