Jack Saunders’ football journey is a story of resilience, development, and seizing opportunities across non-league football. He began as a scholar at Welling United, where his early potential and work ethic stood out before making the switch to Dorking Wanderers B for the 2022–23 season. At Dorking, he quickly established himself as one of the B team’s standout performers, playing a pivotal role in their third-place league finish and cup runs, which earned him a first-team contract the following summer. To gain valuable senior experience, Saunders went on loan to Redhill, before moving to Ashford United, where his energy, versatility, and football intelligence were praised by manager Danny Kedwell. Despite a setback with a dislocated shoulder that cut his loan short, Saunders bounced back, returning to Dorking Wanderers for the 2024–25 season. Already featuring in a National League win over Tonbridge Angels, he continues to grow as part of a Wanderers side pushing to climb the table after a mixed start.
