FIT3146 Assignment 2 (S2 2021) by Ian Neo Do your plants look like this? Dead, dried and lifeless? PlantWorks Aqua is an Apple HomeKit enabled smart plant irrigator, weather station and lamp. Complete with a silent operating water pump, a 0.9” OLED display and LED light, this device is the modern way to care for plants. It’s compatible with small indoor plants, with plans to scale it up for larger plants. Compatible with all Siri-enabled iOS devices running iOS 11 and up, caring for plants has never been as modern and easy. Set-up is easy! First, plug in your PlantWorks Aqua into power. Then, connected to Wi-Fi, launch the Apple Home app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. Add a new accessory and follow the on-screen prompts. Then, fill up the bottom reservoir with water. You may also add any water-based fertilizer in too. Close the lid, then, purge the lines for the first time to rid of any potential dust and debris left from the packaging or manufacturing process. Each PlantWorks Aqua comes with a guiding rod. Insert the rod into the soil, place the plant on the landing pad, and then insert the rod into the pipe. This helps guide the water into the soil without spilling and making a mess. Who is it made for? It’s great for individuals that love their plants, and want to care for them in a simple, modern, and relaxed manner. Conversely, it is great for people who are often too busy and overlook plant heath and care. Using the great power of Siri and Siri shortcuts, PlantWorks Aqua is extremely versatile in function for either customer. You can use PlantWorks Aqua to tailor a custom plant health care routine, that can suit specific types of plants, vegetables, herbs or climates. Have a thirsty plant? Set up a shortcut that gives a longer burst of water. It’s a hot day? Set PlantWorks Aqua to water when the temperature reaches more than 25 degrees. Work often? Set it to water when you leave in the morning and turn on the light once you get close to home at night. The possibilities with Siri are endless. With many of us working, coming, and going, it is often easy to overlook our plants, leaving them dried and shriveled up in the often harsh and unforgiving Australian weather. There are a lot of smart plant accessories, but none of them offer the level of convenience and integration with smartphones as PlantWorks Aqua. Care for your plants the easy and modern way.
