Beamforming in Practice: Part 2 - How Wide are the Beams at 28 GHz mm-Wave for 6G?

Shows a real practical example of the beam widths that can be expected at 28 GHz mm-wave frequencies, using beam forming hardware. These frequencies are expected to be part of the 6G Mobile Communications standard. The equipment used in this video was provided by TMYTEK (www.tmytek.com) Note that in my haste, for the 60 deg pointing angle case, I simply doubled the offsets from the 30 deg direction, when I should have re-calculated the formula (with the sin of the angle, not just the angle). Sorry about this "mental typo" in the video. It means that the phase offsets I actually used in that case corresponded to a 90 deg pointing angle (according to the formula), but at that pointing angle the radiation will be affected by the ground plane that surrounds the radiating elements, around the edge of the square white coloured dielectric sheet, so I guess it was interesting to see what happened in that case too. Also note that I subsequently learned that the detector had a minimum detection level of -37 dBm, and in fact the antenna pattern does have sidelobes on the beams, but they were not visible since they were more than 15 dB below the peak power of the main lobe.
