Mt Kenya is the highest peak in Kenya and the 2nd highest in Africa. It has 3 peaks, Batian(5,199m), Nelion(5,188m) and Lenana(4,985m). Lenana is the most easily summited peak as the other two require technical rock climbing gear and skills. There are many routes to summit the mountain but the three most commonly used are the Chogoria route from the East, the Naromoru route from the South West and Sirimon route at Nanyuki from the North West. Each route has its own unique challenges and advantages. The Sirimon route offers magnificent views of vast valleys and panaromic rock formations. During the pandemic of 2020, we set out to exercise our lungs and breathe the fresh mountain air. Please forgive the amateur video quality😌.
