#Camiguin #NorthernMindanao #ComeAgainToCamiguin #CleanCamiguin #CamiguinIsland I'm glad to share with you my first visit to a place known as the 'Island Born of Fire' and the 2nd smallest province in the Philippines... Camiguin! 😍🔥 First, we came to see Katibawasan Falls, a picturesque 70-meter waterfall plunging into a swimming pool in a lush forest setting. The next stop is Ardent Hot Spring, a man-made pool with thermal water from Mt. Hibok-Hibok. We stopped by at Mt. Vulcan, an inactive volcano situated between the boundary of Mambajao and Catarman on Camiguin's west side. Then took some quick snaps at the entrance of the Walkway To The Old Volcano and Stations of the Cross. 🌋 We also came to see The Sunken Cemetery, one of the popular tourist spots in Camiguin. Even though the old tombstones are already covered in lava and coral, you can go snorkeling on your way to the huge cross while seeing some coral and fish, giant clams, the old cross, and the statue's head underneath. 🪦 We dropped by the Old Church Ruins, which is just a couple of blocks away from the Sunken Cemetery. The old Spanish church, which is also known as Gui-ob Church, was destroyed and partly submerged during the series of eruptions of Mt.Vulcan from 1871 to 1875. ⛪ After that, we went to the Soda Water Pool, one of the most popular spring resorts in Camiguin with clean and clear water that is not just good for swimming but for drinking as well. Outside of the resort is a store that sells Kiping, a fried crisp wafer made from cassava topped with caramelized coconut. We also tried Sorol for our lunch, a local dish made with native chicken cooked in coconut milk. 🏊🏻♂️ We then proceed to Tuasan Falls, one of the most popular waterfalls in the province. It is a 20-meter high waterfall that cascades amid greenery into a clear blue pool of water that draws swimmers. Lastly, I spend the rest of the time dipping in the cold and soothing waters of Sto. Nino Cold Spring. A layer of minerals found in the mountain filters the cold spring as it flows down from Mount Mambajao, making the water naturally clean. If you've been here before, do you notice how awe-inspiring their roads are, or is it just me? I see no blog or wall post talking about it. All roads were concrete, even in the distant barrio. 😲💯 They are still restricted and need TCP up to date. There are checkpoints in every municipality where you need to foot bath to prevent ASF spread, and there is almost a zero crime rate! It goes to show how much they care for their municipality. 💞 There are still a lot of places to visit in Camiguin aside from the abovementioned spots that make me want to 'Come Again To Camiguin'. This trip wouldn't be possible without the help of my local guide, Sir Rogever Badilla. You can reach him at 0935-555-0655 for more info if you are planning to head to Camiguin soon.
