18650 Cell Holder Quick Fix

Modifying the 4 cell holders for easier single cell removal. With the pairs of cells initially used in the power shelf, it was no problem removing them from the cell holders. But now that I'm testing groups of 10 single cells, that became an issue due to the high dividers between the two middle cell locations. I used an end cutting nipper and a side cutter to add notches to the 3 dividers in the middle of the holder. Cut diagonally down on each side about half way with the side cutters. Then use the end cutters to cut the bottom of the notch. This notch exposes the diameter of the cell to make removal possible. Why the designer of that holders did not put notches all the way across like they did on the ends is beyond me.
