This year, National Police Week is being celebrated May 15 to 21. To mark the week, officers from throughout the province will be sharing their #MountieMinute. Videos will be posted throughout the week as BC RCMP police officers provide insight into their work. ========== Full transcript: Hi, I’m Andy Leclair, and I’m the Officer in Charge of the Lower Mainland District Emergency Response Team. The Lower Mainland District Emergency Response Team is the largest E.R.T in the country, we’re full time and we have been in operation since 2006. We service 32 municipalities and three of those are actually municipal policing jurisdictions. Our role is to provide enhanced tactical support to the municipalities for situations that are highly dynamic and violent. The goal of an emergency response team is to resolve a situation as peacefully as possible. We plan for the worst but always hope for the best. This has been a Mountie Minute. ========
