The Ford Mustang GTD Set A Sub-Seven Minute Nurburgring Lap Time!

Ford's has finally announced their official nurburgring laptime for the Mustang GTD and it is 6 minutes and 57 point 68 seconds, which puts the car exactly where I predicted it would be 6 months ago, above the Porsche GT2 RS, and just slightly slower than the Porsche 918 spyder.  This makes the Mustang GTD the 12th fastest unmodified street legal car around the nurburgring. And just to put this laptime into perspective, here are some of the cars that the GTD is faster than: Every single street legal ferrari ever made, the lamborghini Aventador LP750, the Rimac Nevara, the Dodge Viper ACR, the chevy corvette ZR1, the Porsche GT2 RS, the Porsche GT4 RS, and many, many more cars.  Now unfortunately the mustang GTD did not beat the Mercedes AMG ONE, so we won't be having our party, but this is the first time an american manufacturer set a sub seven minute lap on the nurburgring and it is still an event to be extremely excited about.
