Our first stop was the Sangam Snaan. Initially, the boatmen were charging ₹450 per head, but due to high water levels, boats were not allowed to go all the way to Sangam. Instead, we went about 200 meters from the ghat and took a holy dip. The charges for this were ₹100 per person. After that, we planned to visit the Lete Hanuman Temple, but unfortunately, it was closed since the water level had risen 15–20 feet inside the temple premises. So, we decided to proceed towards Ayodhya. On the way, we stopped at Bharat Kund (Nandigram), a very significant religious site near Ayodhya. It is believed to be the place where Lord Ram’s brother Bharat ruled Kosala during Lord Ram’s exile, keeping Ram’s sandals on the throne as a symbol of his rule. The site also has a sacred pond where Lord Ram performed the Shraddh of his father, King Dasharatha.
