Volantex 2.6m ASW-28 v1 at Camperdown (I like it when it FLEX!!)

This is the original version 1 without the fixed landing wheel. I broke the stock ply wing retaining piece and bent the original (aluminum!) wing joiner bar when it crashed at Mt. Leura last year and replaced it with a heavy stainless steel shaft which works great! I also spray painted the spinner and wing tips white for a more scale-like appearance. This plane is SERIOUSLY nose heavy even with a 3s 2200mah LiPo shoved all the way back under the CG, and it still needed some 20% up-trim! I had to hold nearly half elevator stick just after launch to avoid hitting the ground - sorry for the fright Dave! She thermals very well even with the heavy wing joiner which was a pleasant surprise and the wing flexes (Salisbug sine-wave!) in turbulence but I believe the full size would do something like that too :) Thanks for watching!
