In this documentary feature set in the heart of Puerto Galera, French artist Henri Lamy - inventor of Capoeira painting - leads a life guided by the quiet wisdom of the Mangyan people and a deep-seated commitment to the respect and perpetuation of their ancient traditions. Now captured through the lens of film director David Olson produced by Warren Carman under Manila-based production company Cutaway Productions, the story of Henri Lamy serves as a testament to artistic activism. Born in Lyon in 1985, Lamy is known for his figurative works marked by vivid color, expressive composition, and an inventive use of the palette knife. He began his career at the Paris art residence 59 Rivoli and later combined his passions for capoeira and painting into a performance-based practice developed with his wife, Maïa d’Aboville.
