This video shows more tips for working with a cut-out character in OpenToonz, expanding on last week's 2-part BB-8 rigged character. This week I show a more-detailed, more-realistically sized character, a skeleton, which more more likely match the number of moving parts your characters will have. I discuss the differences in using fully "boned" characters, versus partially frame by frame ones and using the plastic tool to add some flexibility to a rigged character. I try to speed through the demos as quickly as I can, speeding up the drawing where necessary, so you're not just watching me draw, but there's a lot to get through and I pack in as many tips as I can along the way, but if you want to skip through the video, here's the list of topics I cover. Contents: 00:00 Intro 01:08 A look at how Skelly is connected 01:55 Option 1 for building characters - fully-boned 03:14 Using the Inverse Kinematic option 04:26 Option 2 for building characters - frame by frame drawing 06:48 Option 3 for building characters - using the plastic tool 08:02 Wrap up -------------------------------------------------------------- If you liked what you saw and want to help out, you can buy me a coffee or a Darren Tea ;-) https://www.buymeacoffee.com/DarrenT Check out useful OpenToonz-companion software you can download or purchase: https://gumroad.com/DarrenTAnims The kit I use and recommendations of useful books: http://kit.co/DarrenT -------------------------------------------------------------- Discord: / discord For help setting up and using OpenToonz, chat with animators & developers and enter animation challenges.
