This video shows the difference between the standard SAE 1157 bayonet bulb and the 2357 bulbs in "lux" brightness. (Occasionally I mention "lumens", but I mean "lux") Most of the videos I've found on the "tube" are with the camera pointed directly at the light in a night environment making a distinction merely subjective at best, and hard to distinguish a real difference. I used a simple light meter app from the Android market on a tablet computer. I compare the BMW F800GT standard tailight bulb to a standard 1157 bulb, and then to the GE Nighthawk version of the 1157. Finally, I compare the GE Nighthawk 2357 bulb which uses the same base. I hope you agree that this analysis is more objective and gives you a better idea of how bright these bulbs are relative to each other.
