How I Make My Mushroom Mugs, Part One

I make ceramics in my tiny back garden studio, which I sell at art fairs and on Etsy, under the name of Sandpiper Art Studios. My mushroom mugs are my most popular seller, so I thought I'd make a video showing how exactly I make them. I am currently caring for my 92 year old mum and living in her house, so I am making my pottery on her coffee table in her lounge! I'm holding the phone camera with my left hand while I make the mug with my right hand - so you can expect very slick production values - not! I also have the worst hands in the world... I nearly called my channel: The Witch's Fingers, because I suffer from psoriasis, which looks hideous on film, and for that I apologise... I have taught lots of students to make these mushroom mugs with me, and it was something they enjoyed, so I decided to put it out there for others to try. The base of the mug was made the night before, using the slip cast method, where you pour liquid slip into a mug mould and leave it to dry over night. Thanks for watching!
