What are these elements? Marking to indicate the Safe School Zone Spaces for children to halt before crossing Vibrant, colourful crossings Guidestrips along the footpath Signage and road markings World Resources Institute, (WRI) India Ross Centre partnered with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and the Mumbai Traffic Police under the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety for the Safer Access to Schools project. The trials for the project were undertaken in October 2021, outside the Christ Church School in Mumbai's Byculla area. The trials using paints, cones, and barricades, transformed the 200-meter-long stretch in Byculla into a child-friendly school zone.
