The webinar held on 17 December 2025 was similar to previous and placed greater emphasis on labelling and recent EU regulatory changes. Marine Management Organisation (MMO) held a series of engagement events to support the UK seafood industry to prepare for significant changes to fish exports requirements early next year. Fishermen, merchants, processors and exporters were invited to attend the online meetings as they get ready for extra data submissions needed to generate catch certificates from the Fish Export Service (FES) alongside other EU changes. Catch certificates are compulsory for most seafood consignments to enter EU markets and they require each part of the UK supply chain to meet its data obligations accurately and on time. From 10 January 2026 additional information will be required for catch certificates, as the EU has updated its data requirements as part of a tightening of the trading bloc’s Illegal Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) regulations
