How amazing was this JWCh!? 😍 Groups and Individuals have been doing great! Here is my contribution as a judge in helping you better understand how scores are awarded and how these breathtaking exercises are seen through the eyes of a judge 🤓. For these exercises, I collaborated with a dear friend and amazing judge from Spain! 📌 Explanations: YEREKESHEVA AKMARAL 🇰🇿 - HOOP D score: 10.10 (6.30 ; 3.80) - Official D score: 10.50 (6.70 ; 3.80) 00:04 - at normal speed, this DB looks like being 3 turns. If paused and slowed down, this is not 3 full turns, she is missing kind of 45-90 degrees to end the third rotation, but since the span is not big and we first judge all videos with normal speed, then 3 full turns is fine; 00:18 - the first rotation on the throw begins as a walkover and ends with the technique of a cartwheel, so the type of pre-acrobatic rotation is still walkover fwd, according to CoP per 4.5.3, page 49; 1:04 - the shape is fixed when the Hoop has already completed part of its rotation around the leg, but at normal speed this is not to be seen immediately. This DB might have caused some discussion among the judges, though, leading to a possibly averaged DB score; 1:20 - walkover fwd was already used in the first Risk, as I was explaining before (see 00:18), so this R should not be valid per 4.4.3, page 43; STANCIU PATRICIA 🇷🇴 - BALL D score: 9.00 (5.70 ; 3.30) - Official D score: 9.10 (5.80 ; 3.30) 2:20 - any part of the large roll DA can happen OVF for the Base to be OVF, so this is a mistake due to tiredness, I guess. 2:24 - not 360 rotation, so this DA lacks 2 valid criteria and is not valid; 2:47 - catching the Ball with bent arms behind the head is normally NOT valid for OVF, but if the Ball is caught without the help of the hands, like here, then the criterion can be awarded per its definition 4.9, page 53; 2:55 - the handling is badly coordinated with the shape, meaning that she hasn't reached the horizontal position of the trunk and the transmission has already been completed, so the DB lacks a valid handling during the shape and is not valid; BAHNAS FARIDA 🇪🇬 - CLUBS D score: 9.40 (6.10 ; 3.30) - Official D score: 9.40 (6.10 ; 3.30) 4:01 - most of the working arms must be OVF for the criterion to be awarded (per 5.4, page 58). Here, when the Clubs are released from behind, both arms look to be at the side of the body for their majority, so the DA lacks two valid criteria and is not valid (remember that "on the floor" criterion is N/A to small throws and catches with all apparatuses); VALKOVA MAGDALENA 🇧🇬 - RIBBON D score: 9.60 (6.40 ; 3.20) - Official D score: 9.80 (6.50 ; 3.30) 4:40 - for Spirals and Snakes, it is required that at least the working hand is in a correct OVF zone. Here, the hand doesn't cross the line of the legs, so it is not in a OVF zone according to 5.4, page 58. This looks like an attempt of DA because of the hand position being extremely near to OVF but not performing it correctly; 5:26 - OVF is not correctly performed, so this DA lacks two valid criteria and is not valid; 6:03 - walkover fwd AND seated rotation were already used in the previous R at 5:36. Here, the rotation begins as a walkover fwd and ends as a cartwheel, so the type of pre-acrobatic rotation is still walkover fwd, according to CoP per 4.5.3, page 49; Still any doubts?
