Prince William and Prince Harry were both in military uniform, accompanied by Prince William's wife, the Duchess of Cambridge. More than a (m) million spectators braved hard rain and winds to watch a spectacle not seen for 300 years and not likely to be repeated for decades. Organisers of the flotilla, mustered to mark 60 years on the throne of Britain's Queen Elizabeth ll, said 1.25 (m) million spectators lined the bridges and river banks. The persistent rain left performers in the pageant and the public soaked and bedraggled, but the Queen was greeted by a cheering, undaunted sea of red, white and blue as she looked out from the royal barge surrounded by her family. She braved the rain without an umbrella and stood beneath an ornate canopy to review the flotilla from the royal barge 'Spirit of Chartwell'. And as the royal party disembarked a twin-funnelled, Mississippi-style paddle steam passed by, a symbol of the international contingent taking part in the celebrations. =========================================================== Clients are reminded: (i) to check the terms of their licence agreements for use of content outside news programming and that further advice and assistance can be obtained from the AP Archive on: Tel +44 (0) 20 7482 7482 Email: info@aparchive.com (ii) they should check with the applicable collecting society in their Territory regarding the clearance of any sound recording or performance included within the AP Television News service (iii) they have editorial responsibility for the use of all and any content included within the AP Television News service and for libel, privacy, compliance and third party rights applicable to their Territory.
