Just explaining few things for new or not tech people in regards to how to use PlayBox correctly on VirtualMan latest pi4 image! Pi4 USB GUIDE: *How to use this Pi4 release on USB...* Current firmware supports the "old" way using an SD card. A newer firmware will support direct USB boot as on Pi3B+ STEPS: *Minor update 05.04.2020* Burn img with latest ETCHER to you USB of preference. Im using in the video an Orico USB3.1 NVMe enclosure and my 512GB Sabrent NVMe SSD Use a small SD card, formatted in FAT32. I m using just a 2GB old SD card Mount with OSFMount image boot partition or copy in anyway you like the ALL contents of the boot partition/folder to your SD card (aforementioned) Edit SD Card's cmdline.txt in it. Find "root=PARTUUID=d9b3f436-02" and replace to "root=/dev/sda2" Last we need to edit fstab. We need to do this to force auto mount of the /boot on the SD card not on the USB! THE REASON: so that kernel and firmware updates will be written to the SD. The correct /BOOT partition used which is the one on the SD card. NOTE: When we have direct USB boot enabled on the firmware, SD wont be needed, you need to revert fstab as it was and perform any any kernel upgrade. PlayBox will upgrade your firmware automatically at boot if needed. Use LAN and connect with SSH (use my putty preconfigured setup from my discord "📜guides-fixes-tips" in case you forgot PlayBox password is "PlayBox" without quotes and case sensitive. in putty copy/paste below to edit it. sudo nano /etc/fstab In fstab comment out (in case you wan to revert back or keep the setting) this line to look like: #PARTUUID=d9b3f436-01 /boot vfat defaults 0 2 and add below it, this line (you can simply replace the id above if you wish): /dev/mmcblk0p1 /boot vfat defaults 0 2 CTRL + X to exit and "y" to save. Reboot your Pi4 NOTE: fstab edit you can also do below: mount edit it directly on img before burn or afterwards using the Ext2Fsd (tutorial on my YT) any other way you prefer. Thank you for watching & your support! 2Play!
