Nepal’s House of Representatives has issued a ruling urging the government to initiate high-level diplomatic talks with India over the mysterious death of Prisa Sah, a Nepali B.Tech student at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology in India’s Odisha, who was found dead in her hostel room on 1st of May. This marks the second death of a Nepali female student at KIIT within three months, raising alarm in Nepal’s parliament. Speaker Devraj Ghimire directed the government to pursue dialogue with India to uncover the truth and provide legal assistance to Sah’s family, calling the recurring deaths of Nepali students abroad a “serious issue” tied to national responsibility. “The incident of mysterious deaths one after another of students who had gone abroad to study with dreams of a bright future is deeply concerning,” Ghimire said. The earlier death of Prakriti Lamsal on February 16 at KIIT sparked protests, with students alleging harassment by a fellow student and inaction by the university. The accused was arrested, but lawmakers now question if these incidents are coincidental. Former Education Minister Devendra Paudel demanded a serious investigation, noting Sah’s death hours after speaking with her father. Independent lawmaker Amresh Kumar Singh criticized the government’s silence, alleging bias as Sah hails from Madhesh. As per reports, approximately 1200 Nepali students are currently enrolled in India’s KIIT. #Nepal #Parliament #KIITStudentDeath Subscribe to SouthAsia Newsline ► https://bit.ly/3pmDSR3 Don't forget to press THE BELL ICON to never miss any updates ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Enjoy and stay connected with us!! ☛ Visit our Official website: http://www.southasianewsline.com/ ☛ Subscribe us: https://bit.ly/3pmDSR3 ☛ Follow us: / sasianewsline ☛ Like us: / southasianewsline ☛ Official channel of South Asia Newsline - a weekday newscast ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- South Asia Newsline, India News, Pakistan News, Afghanistan News, Bangladesh News, Nepal News, Sri Lanka News, South Asia Weekday Bulletin, English News Bullletin
