In this video, I deconstruct this landscape photo of the Wainui Falls waterfall in New Zealand. I share my editing process and the workflow I used to build this 32 layer file. The purpose of this video is to demystify the steps that have gone into this finished piece. The end result is a far cry from the original camera capture, so I wanted to share the process that got me to the end result. This is not a tutorial so I'm not going into too much depth on how the effect was achieved, but merely presenting my thoughts on what I wanted to do and how I went about doing it. We look at curves for brightening and darkening, we look at my dodge and burn layers, we delve into how I've controlled the hue and saturation and at the end I look at the layers I use to give the shot a signature look. At one point I show how I used a merged layer to liquify the landscape to subtly reshape the environment to how I wanted it. If you've got any questions please leave them in the comments.
