Hi Guys, today I’m reviewing the Swiffer Bissell SteamBoost. It plugs in, you fill the tank with water and push the trigger for steam. You can’t put any soap, detergent or any other cleaner in the tank, only water. You can use tap water, but It’s recommended to use demineralized or distilled water with this steam mop. The mop comes with 2 Cleaning Pads. These pads contain a cleaning solution that’s activated with steam. So you don’t need to use any other cleaning liquid. You can use this mop on most hard floors like tile, vinyl, laminate, marble stone and sealed hardwood floors. Don’t use this mop on waxed or unsealed hardwood floors. Let’s put the mop together, it’s very easy. The handle snaps into this rod. There is a storage hook on the handle in case you want to hang it. The mop measures 45.5 inches tall when assembled. The base measures 9 ¾ inches by 4.5 inches Let’s try out the mop. Before you mop, you have to vacuum or sweep the floor. The mop is not intended to pick up particles, just dirt. Open the tank and fill with 10 ounces of water. Use a cup with a spout since the opening is very small. No cup is included. Tighten the cap. Attach a steam pad. Plug in the mop. The indicator light will glow when it’s ready to use - about 30 seconds after you plug it in. Squeeze and hold the trigger for steam. You can squeeze the trigger whenever you need more steam. It’s not loud and I didn’t see any steam while using this mop. Because the head swivels, it’s a little awkward to use when mopping straight up and down. The mop did pick up dirt from my living room hardwood floors, kitchen hardwood floors and bathroom tile floors. However, it left many streaks on my walnut hardwood floors in the kitchen. The floors dried pretty quickly. That also depends on how much steam you used and how wet your floors were. You should be able to clean about 2 rooms with one pad depending on the size of the room and how dirty the floor is. Throw the pad away when you’re done. The mop is light, is easy to use on steps. The pads smell like febreeze, it is noticeable but not unpleasant or overwhelming. I feel I could use my regular Swiffer with a wet pad and get the same results. So, I don’t think the $50 price tag for this mop is worth it. The Shark Steam Pocket Mop is a better option at the same price. I’ve put a link to the Shark review and product above. If you want to try out this mop, I’ve put a link in the description for this mop as well as the cleaning pad refills. I really hope you found this review helpful.
