Lesson16. Learn English with Cinderella #2 Script • Lady Tremaine: My dear girls, to see you like this, it makes me believe one of you might just snare the Prince. And to think I have two horses in the race! I dare say no one in the kingdom will outshine my daughters. • [just then Ella appears walking down the stair in the ball dress she made for herself] • Lady Tremaine: Cinderella. • Cinderella: It cost you nothing. It was my mother’s old dress, you see. And I took it out myself. • [in a mockingly wicked one] • Drisella: Oh, la. Cinderella at the ball! No one wants a servant as a bride. • Lady Tremaine: After all I’ve done. • Cinderella: I don’t want to ruin anything, I don’t even want to meet the Prince. • Lady Tremaine: Oh, and you won’t. Cause there’s no question of you going. • Cinderella: But all of the maidens of the land are invited, by order of the King. • Lady Tremaine: It is the King I’m thinking of. It would be an insult to the royal personage to take you to the palace in these old rags. • Cinderella: Rags? This was my mothers. • [Lady Tremaine, Anastasia and Drisella walk over to Ella] • Lady Tremaine: Oh, sorry to have to tell you, but your mother’s taste was questionable. This thing is so old-fashioned it’s practically falling to pieces. • [suddenly Lady Tremaine rips one shoulder off Ella’s dress] • Lady Tremaine: Oh, the shoulder’s frayed! • [Drisella then rips the front lace off the dress] • Lady Tremaine: It’s falling to bits. • Drisella: It’s ridiculous old-fashioned joke!
